This is the story of how we met.
It happened on this day a year ago (If I remember correctly, it was around 2:00am). I was in O-Bar (Ortigas) with two good friends dancing my heart out. It was a dance borne out of frustration, frustrations I had with dating and not finding the one.
Note: Yes, I am that type of (gay) guy, who believes in the one, fairytales, happily ever afters. A classic hopeless romantic who invests emotions, who later on finds out that he invested in watered stocks (who eventually had a 500% RoI with the one I'm with :D).
I was having a good time but my frustration-hands in the air-dance was interrupted. I saw a friend who is not supposed to know about my true identity (well, not at that time). I literally panicked and asked my friend to hide me, he in turn told me he saw a former classmate. So in an attempt to conceal my presence, I went with my friend to say hi to this former classmate, Pat.
My friend introduced us to each other and I greeted him politely. I said to myself, "What's up with this guy? He's wearing a cap, in a bar. Hindi ba siya naiinitan?!" Then I danced with him for a while, it was the polite thing to do (I'm such a gentleman..haha). When I was ready to go back to my friends, I saw my friend talking to my other friend whom I was hiding from. I literally panicked and the quick fix was to stay with Pat.
Note: Before we went in the bar I told my friends I don't want to meet anyone as I was supposed to take a break from the dating scene. Once again destiny would play another joke on me. The only difference is, this time it's a good one.
As I danced with Pat, I found out that he graduated from a prestigious state university, he works as an events coordinator, he did OT that Friday night and other information you can find in a CV (HR initial interview ang atake..haha). In an attempt to ease my discomfort with seeing him dance with a cap on (ang init nga kasi), I told him "Remove your cap." It took a while before he removed it and once he did I had a sudden urge to rub his head (no pun intended.. I have a thing for kalbo men, so manly and clean looking). When he got tired from dancing, I saw it as an opportunity to further conceal my presence from the abovementioned friend. So I asked Pat if he'd like to step out for a while and we did (it was around 4:00am).
Outside we got to know each other better. We talked about our families, educational background, past relationships, I even sang to him (Mr. Brightside and Use Somebody.. I think he somehow got impressed). We talked for two whole hours.
Instant chemistry.
Who would have thought that a means of hiding can turn into something meaningful, an unexpected meeting can turn into romance, that God would answer my prayers with a guy wearing a white cap dancing in a bar (who turned out to be sweet, kind-hearted and oh so charming).
I will always find joy in reminiscing how we met, for it was...
Destiny. Serendipity. Tadhana.

10/12
To My One and Only Bebe Bane,
Today we celebrate a special day. It's my first day to go to the gym! My dreams of becoming a Bench underwear model is now finally coming true.
Joke. Hahaha.
Seriously speaking, today we celebrate ten (10) months of being together. Happy monthsary Mahal ko. We're two months away from celebrating our anniversary and three months away from seeing each other, WAAAAAAAHHH!!! I cannot wait.
Thank you for staying sweet, funny and charming even though we are miles apart and in different timezones. Thank you for understanding, especially in times I don't even understand myself. Most of all, thank you for loving me, even in times I am unloveable. I will always be grateful to God for giving me a wonderful gift, I could not ask for more.
I love you Pat, then, now, always.
P.S.
Ako yung brown Bane kasi alam naman natin na mas maputi ka sa akin.. haha..
I love you.

Berso [Verse]

Sweet nothings
I can't wait for the time
that I will start and end my day
with kissing your forehead and
saying the words "I love you"
that I will start and end my day
with kissing your forehead and
saying the words "I love you"

Sweet nothings
I found the one (you),
and I will never give up..
I know it's cheesy, but what can I do,
I'm crazily, stupidly, in love with you.
(I got inspired by the movie Crazy, Stupid, Love. Good film, poison to hopeless romantics out there :D)

A love letter

It has been our thing from the beginning, to write love notes/letters for each other every chance we get. We've sneaked it in our respective bags, back-pockets of our pants, the drawer in your desk, in between our planner/notebooks. We've given each other several of these through facebook, yahoo mail, sms and even in our own blogs.
We've given each other a number of love notes/letters I've lost count already and I plan to keep it that way. This one is for you My Love (please do expect many more to come).
To My Love,
Ano bang meron sa araw na to? Napakaordinaryo, parang wala lang. Ah alam ko na! Today is the last day of my bum mode. So let's celebrate! Haha
But seriously speaking...
Today we celebrate eight months of being together, eight months of love. Happy Monthsary Pat!
Mahal ko, you are truly a blessing in my life and I could not ask for more. Sabi nga ni Toni Gonzaga sa My Amnesia Girl, "Lord, pandesal lang naman hinihingi ko, hamburger binigay nyo. May fries pa!"
All the pain and heartbreaks in the past, you made it all worth it. I have no regrets experiencing them, because now I know the reason for my love-scars. It was God's way of preparing me to meet and be with the greatest love of my life.
Lastly, I can say that it has been a wonderful journey and I hope you are ready to keep on sailing with me through many more monthsaries (and anniversaries). You are my Forever and I am your Always.
I love you, and I will never get tired of saying it and showing it.
The guy who plans to spend the rest of his life with you,
Mr. Brightside aka Your Crazy-Little Ban-Ne
Every long lost dream led me to where you are
Others who broke my heart they were like Northern stars
Pointing me on my way into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you

Notes and Words

Songs, are meant to convey a message. The language of the heart and soul.

Songs find words for us when we are lost for it, when the simple "I love you" is not enough.

Songs, it's amazing how you discover one and how it perfectly describes the state you are in. It triggers an emotion, evokes a memory, creates longing.
Songs, they are more than notes and words.
You left your home, You're so far from everything you know
Your big dream is crashing down and out your door.
Wake up and dream once more.
Come back when you can...
You've done nothing at all to make me love you less.
So come back when you can.
I miss you.
I love you.

I Promise
A love story:
It was the perfect start of a wonderful love story. Boy 1, tired from work and from pointless dates, went to O-bar with friends (he wasn't expecting to meet anyone/he didn't want to meet anyone). Boy 2, also tired from work, was invited by a friend to go to O-bar to distress. Boy 1 saw a friend of his best friend and hid (Boy 1 was not yet that "open" at that time). In an attempt to conceal himself, one of Boy 1's friends suggested that they roam the dance floor and said "I think I saw a former classmate." The "former classmate" he was pertaining to was Boy 2. The two boys meet for the first time. Boy 1 danced with Boy 2, it was the polite thing to do at that time. After a while, Boy 1 decided to return to his friends, after all he did not intend to meet anyone that night and he made a decision to take a break from the dating scene. Panic! Boy 1's friend was talking to the guy Boy 1 was trying to avoid, in another attempt to hide, Boy 1 decided to stay where Boy 2 was situated and danced with him.
"Pagod na ako magsayaw," Boy 2 uttered... "Would you like to step out for a while?" Boy 1 replied... The two boys stepped out and engaged in a 2-hour conversation. A connection was made... Instant chemistry.
Still unsure of the possibilities between them, two weeks passed by, two weeks of trying to find out if it's still worth a try. Alas, the boys found the necessary courage and started dating.
After almost two months of sweet-funny-anything goes-crazy dates, November 24, 2010, Boy 1 took a risk:
I love you. Take a risk with me. Be my boyfriend
And so did Boy 2:
I guess the monthsary is every 24th of the month
It has been seven (7) months of love for the two boys. Words are not enough to describe the beauty of their relationship, how rare and beautiful it is. What makes it even more wonderful is both their families and friends support their relationship.
But, a love story is not a love story if there are no challenges in between. Now the boys are facing a tough challenge... We are facing a tough challenge.
Two months ago my boyfriend left the country to work in Saudi Arabia. It was a difficult but necessary choice to make and I completely understand his reasons. Despite the distance (and the time difference) we decided to make it work. After all, it is a rare and beautiful love story that is worth fighting for.
A message to My Love:
Mahal ko,
It has been seven months of love, and I am looking forward to an infinite number of months to celebrate with you. You are my forever and I am your always.
I miss you and I love you so much.
A promise:

Kailanman hinding hindi magsasawa...
Na sabihin at ipakita...
Na mahal na mahal kita...
Habang buhay ikaw ay nais makasama

Love is you
"You are my everything... My world... Love is you"
Everytime I hear this song, I am reminded of someone who is sweet, who is kind, who is funny, who is smart, who is charming and who loves me, both my light and my dark. Someone who I plan to spend the rest of my life with. You know who you are. I miss you. I love you.

Sweet nothings
Mahal na mahal kita Pat, words are not enough to describe or explain the entirety of it. I do the things that I do for you because I love you so much.
